Find Your Flow with Aikido of San Diego

An Aikido Community

We're a community that's been dedicated to the practice, principles, and spirit of the art since 1998. Membership gains you access to our classes, supports our ongoing exploration, and promotes the evolutionary values we share.

2020 brought many changes. Among them was the decision to take training outdoors. We are also only teaching adults and mature teens at this time.

Becoming a Member

Let us know you're interested! Send an email to info@aikidosd.com, or call 619-993-2454. We'll answer any of your questions and get you set up. Monthly membership is only $80.

Complete our membership form in advance and save some time! You're also welcome to just show up, watch a class, ask questions, or register on the spot. For now, be sure to wear a mask.

Scholarship Opportunities

We are fortunate to have a number of sponsors who value Aikido, and wish to bring the training to those with both genuine interest and financial need.

Some of the positions are designated for women, and some are non-specific.

Contact Sensei to learn more, or to formally apply.

Morihei Ueshiba - O Sensei - The Founder of Aikido

"Everyone has a spirit that can be refined, a body that can be trained in some manner, a suitable path to follow. You are here for no other purpose than to realize your sanctity and manifest your inner enlightenment. Foster peace in your own life, and then apply the art to all that you encounter."

Morihei Ueshiba "O-Sensei"
Founder of Aikido

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Scott Bjerke and Laura Fleisch - Two recent black belts

Scott & Laura

Scott Bjerke and Laura Fleisch are two of our black belts. They took their first-degree exams together in September 2012. Following her exam, she and another ASD student, Doug Hooton, announced their engagement, and are now happily married! They moved east, unfortunately, but Scott continues to train at Aikido of San Diego, and now teaches classes regularly.
