FAQ
I don’t feel ready for a trial class. Can I come watch a class?
Absolutely! We have space dedicated for people observing class. You can just stop by – however, it is a good idea to reach out to us ahead of time to confirm class. Before or after class, you are welcome to ask questions if you feel so inclined and interact with our members.
How often do I need to come when I start?
You can come as much or as little as you want/ your schedule allows. However, we recommend training at least twice a week at the beginning.
Do you accept students from other schools?
Yes, visiting aikidokas are welcome to join us. We invite you to go to the tab “visiting aikidokas” and book the class you want to attend ahead of time. In this case, we can confirm where the class will take place or if there are any changes to the schedule.
I want to learn self-defense quickly. Will aikido help me?
Aikido can definitely be used for self-defense, but it takes some time to learn it well enough to apply it to a real fight. Aikido does require a lot of internal work to be able to use it properly. In other words, if your objective is to be effective quickly, you may want to look for an alternative to aikido.
My child doesn’t have experience in martial arts. Can he still join?
Yes! We don’t require any experience to try or even join. Please know that our staff meets every student where he/she is at. Also, in aikido we don’t compete and one of the main principles is to include the other person.
I’m not fit. Do you think I can practice?
Probably… We invite you to come watch or, even better, try a free class and see how you feel!
